The goals centered on two axes:<\/h4>\n
-The first axis:<\/strong> axis of the undergraduate studies. The objectives envisaged in this axis are many:<\/h4>\n

Preparing teachers who are skilled and scientifically qualified in Arabic language.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n
Students’ adaptation to modern technologies and their use in teaching Arabic language efficiently… that qualifies them for creativity and excellence… at the same time qualifies them to compete in the labor market.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n
It also contributes to community service and continuing education through the establishment of training and advisory courses and scientific meetings in this field.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n

The number of courses that graduated in our department with a bachelor’s degree, reached twenty-five (27) courses.<\/h4>\n
Postgraduate studies in the department were opened in (1993), for master’s stage, while doctoral studies were opened in (1999); Language and Literature.<\/h4>\n

As for the number of courses that graduated with a master’s degree, it was (twenty-three courses).<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Department of Arabic Language was established with the establishment of Al- Iraqia University in 1989, and this department was nucleus of the university’s founding.<\/h4>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It lies in the fact that it aspires to be a distinguished department locally and regionally, producing distinguished scientific competencies in the field of Arabic language and literature.<\/h4>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Seeking to contribute to the preservation of Arabic language, the language of Noble Qur\u2019an, and caring for it\u2026 enhancing its value in hearts of its citizens, and preparing qualified national competencies in this field and this specialization\u2026 serving their country, religion, language and nation\u2026 and enabling the language to involve in daily life so that Arabic becomes a promising life tool.<\/h4>\n
Goals<\/strong>:<\/h4>\n
The goals centered on two axes:<\/h4>\n
-The first axis:<\/strong> axis of the undergraduate studies. The objectives envisaged in this axis are many:<\/h4>\n

Preparing teachers who are skilled and scientifically qualified in Arabic language.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n
Students’ adaptation to modern technologies and their use in teaching Arabic language efficiently… that qualifies them for creativity and excellence… at the same time qualifies them to compete in the labor market.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n
It also contributes to community service and continuing education through the establishment of training and advisory courses and scientific meetings in this field.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n
The department also aims at this stage to direct outstanding literary talents and develop spirit of poetry and writing in various departments of the college to enrich literary movement.<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
– As for the second axis<\/strong>: is axis of postgraduate studies, objectives are also many, most notably:<\/h4>\n

Preparing researchers with Arabic Sciences.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n
Preparing qualified teachers to teach in higher education, capable of facing the problems of Arabic Language in modern life.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n
Enriching the Arab library with research and scientific studies in this field, with all that is new, original, innovative and radical.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
The number of courses that graduated in our department with a bachelor’s degree, reached twenty-five (27) courses.<\/h4>\n
Postgraduate studies in the department were opened in (1993), for master’s stage, while doctoral studies were opened in (1999); Language and Literature.<\/h4>\n

As for the number of courses that graduated with a master’s degree, it was (twenty-three courses).<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n
As for the number of courses that graduated with a doctorate degree, it was (seventeen courses).<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n
Evening studies in department was opened its doors in 2003-2004, so that the first class graduated in 2007-2008, and it is continuing until now.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Department Tasks:<\/strong><\/h4>\n
The department seeks to develop educational process according to the following mechanisms and perceptions:<\/h4>\n

Activating the department’s meetings, and role of the permanent committees in the department, (the Scientific Committee, Graduate Studies Committee, Educational Guidance Committee, Social Committee, Cultural Committee, as well as the Examination Committee).<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Each committee has its programs, activities and work plan, which submits after meeting to the department, to be followed up, the committee has a fixed date for each activity for which preparations are made and announced in advance.<\/h4>\n

Commitment to the timings specified for academic year by Ministry.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n
Commitment to the curricula prepared by Sectoral Committee of Arabic Language Departments in the Faculties of Arts in Al-Iraqia University, and follow-up by faculty members to investigate commitment to it or not.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n
Complete preparation of proposed activities of the department at the beginning of academic year, whether it is a scientific conference, seminars, workshops and discussion panels, and urging the teaching staff to participate provide them with everything that is new and original, documenting all of this, writing it down besides writing the recommendations that come out of these scientific activities.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n
Establishing a work mechanism for research and graduation projects\u2026 following up completion rates to achieve their final form, then discussing them according to a work mechanism approved by the competent committees.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n
